For such a tiny island nation, there’s a surprising amount of fun things to do in São Tomé and Príncipe. From canoeing down hidden mangrove rivers and exploring crumbling cocoa plantations, to tucking into remote beach picnics and snorkelling from boats in secluded bays, day trips on São Tomé and Príncipe are all about nature immersion, pure and simple.
Fall in love with the world again on this breathtaking adventure through one of the most remote places in Africa.

Cathy's feedback
“An idyllic destination far from the tourist mass. Everything on this island is so raw and precious. I felt privileged to explore this truly hidden gem. "
Welcome to São Tomé. Our team will greet you with your name at the airport and escort you to your hotel. Relax and get ready for the adventure.
A full day trip to the South of the island where you can see the varied and rugged topography. Enjoy lunch in the South on Rolas Island, or as a picnic on the Equator Line. Alternatively, if you’re feeling particularly adventurous, hike towards Pico Cao Grande, a remarkable, finger-shaped mountain in south-central São Tomé. It's the world’s tallest volcanic plug and is listed as one of the world's 200 most important sites of biological significance.
Today’s focus is on the turquoise waters and a snorkel excursion to a secluded bay called Blue Lagoon, or Lagoa Azul in the north west. It’s possible to scuba and snorkel here with an easy entrance from the shore. Home to a mixture of tropical marine life, with some particularly rare species, this bay is famed for its seahorses. Aside from the multitude of seahorses, you can also spot moray eels and one or two electric rays.
You’ll be transferred to the São Tomé airport for your flight (35-minute) departing to Príncipe Island. It's an untouched Island, almost virgin, with spectacular scenery and extremely warm people.
In 2012, the whole island of Príncipe and surrounding waters and islets were classified as a Man and Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO — a classification that has helped promote sustainable development goals in the country’s smaller island. It seams as if the Island of Príncipe had stopped in time. It is an absolute quietness distributed in 20km by 19km and is in the north that there is some life. The Príncipe southern region will remind you of a separate world. It is the most exclusive and remote area, more far away and in the oldest fashion one can imagine, in spite of the smallness of the Island.
Today we learn more about the local culture and artistic traditions. You’ll meet a group of artists and have some fun making artwork of your own with their guidance, as a special memento to bring home from Príncipe.
Say goodbye to this incredible island and head to the airport for the flight back to São Tomé. Last activities on this paradise before the departure the next day.
Enjoy your final day before departure. Shop, relax and take it all in.
